Two Argentinian researchers are awarded ERC consolidator grants 2022

From ERC and EURAXESS LAC

Congratulations to the two female researchers from Argentina who have just been awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant. They will conduct their research in Portugal and in the Netherlands. They are among the 321 mid-career laureates who were awarded the 2022 European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grants to tackle big scientific questions at research centres across Europe.

The funding is part of the EU’s current research and innovation programme, Horizon Europe, and worth in total €657 million.  With this support, the grantees will be able to consolidate their teams and conduct pioneering research on topics and with methods of their choosing.

The Argentinian awardees are:

  • Eugenia CHIAPPE, ERC consolidator ECoFly Project: Neural Circuits for Error Correction, Champalimaud Foundation, Portugal

Eugenia had received an ERC Starting Grant in 2017. Check the interview we did with her here

  • Yamila MIGUEL, ERC consolidator N-GINE Project: Next-Generation of Interior models of (Exo)planets: Studying the interior structure of giant planets and its effect on their evolution, atmospheres and observations at NWO Institute SRON: Netherlands Institute for Space Research at Stichting Nederlandse Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek Instituten, the Netherlands
